Stephen M. Gelber

Mr. Stephen Gelber, formerly with Gelber, Gelber & Ingersoll, received his A.B. degree magna cum laude from Harvard College in 1966, at which time he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received his J.D. in 1969 from Harvard Law School. From 1969-1970, he was a Fulbright Fellow and Lecturer in Law at Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand.  

Mr. Gelber is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, the State of California, and the State of Hawaii, and before the United States Supreme Court, United States Court of Appeals (for the 1st, 2nd, 7th, 9th, and 10th Circuits), United States Tax Court, and United States Claims Court.  Mr. Gelber formerly served as an attorney in the United States Department of Justice, Tax Division, and, prior to that, served as a law clerk to the Honorable Judge Arnold Raum of the United States Tax Court.    

Mr. Gelber has served as Chairman of the Tax Section of the Hawaii State Bar Association.  Mr. Gelber holds an “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings, indicating the highest level of professional excellence. He was featured in The Best Lawyers in America (1993-2015 editions), as well as Honolulu Magazine's "Hawaii's A+ Attorneys"/"Hawaii's Best Lawyers" articles (1993 - 2014).  

Mr. Gelber has served on different non-profit boards, including on the board of the Parker School Trust Corporation.  

Mr. Stephen Gelber concentrates his practice in the fields of taxation, real estate, estate planning, and corporate law.
